Right first of all an apology for a lack of update's but the reason for this is cause of an accident I had at the Llangollen Railway when I had an accident and hurt my back after fainting due to low blood pressure.
But now that that is over and done with and I have recovered I am able to bring you update's once again. One of the big events that I went to see so far this year was when 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe double headed with 46233 Duchess of Sutherland on a Carlisle bound express. Both engine's managed to pull off the trip without a problem heading both to Carlisle and back to Tyseley apart from a water problem at Crewe which ended up with Tyseley's own class 47 having to take the train back to Tyseley with 5043 & 46233 following later on in the evening.
One of the big event's for this month has got to be the great get together of all 6 surviving A4s in preservation. The Preserved example's being 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley, 60008 Dwight D Eisenhower (Repatriated from America) 60009 Union of South Africa, 4489 Dominion of Canada (Repatriated from Canada), 4464 Bittern and 4468 Mallard.
I Have not yet decided on a date yet of when I am going to visit for the event but I will be going through York in about 10 days time on the Coast to Coast express from Liverpool Lime Street to Scarborough. The Loco planned to work that trip is either gonna be BR 70013 Oliver Cromwell or LMS 45305 Alderman A.E Draper. But as of yet no announcement has being made regarding what loco will be working the trip as 70013 is currently down south at Southall and 45305 is at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and has only just returned to traffic from a boiler tube repair job at Haworth and Wheel turning down south.
for people who are interested in going on the Coast to Coast express on Saturday 13th July there are still places left on this train but not many so I recommend you book now. If you click this button below it will take you to the sites booking form.
